Our Approach

This Confidential Nonprofit client is a national online force working to move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people and all people. The goal for their new space was to create a workplace that would serve as their home base. Knowing that the new office would bring in many visitors, the client wanted to ensure that the space reflected their mission and could evolve with the everchanging fight for justice. The space was designed in three combined row houses with multiple levels and a rooftop. The project involved a complete renovation of the houses, including significant structural and mechanical updates. With the project being built in the middle of the pandemic and increased construction costs, sshape had to find creative ways to keep the desired design intent while being cautious of the final budget. Custom branding wallcoverings are featured in the elevator lobby and reception area. Additionally, hashtag lights hang in the pantry to exemplify the need for voices to be heard, specifically through social media.
