Our Approach

sshape’s approach to 3000 K Street NW was an opportunity to reflect the building’s relationship to it’s connection along the water. Positioned at the edge of the Potomac River, sshape looked into the qualities and characteristics of the body of water and how they could be transformed into an experiential architectural expression. Once a heavily trafficked port and shipping artery, the Chesapeake Bay was heavily influential in the growth of the area and culture of Washingtonians. Although traffic ceased many decades ago, the river is now integral to the personality, characteristics and leisure lifestyle of the building’s surrounding area. We use the colors, serenity, fauna and flora of the transitional bodies of water as inspiration to create a workplace experience and environment. + A scenic and serene environment full of inspiration of colors, texture, and details to translate into an architectural experience + Multifunction, flexible collaboration zones and open spaces
