Our Approach

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a public policy think tank, elected to expand their scholar and staff office to a 32,000 RSF facility in the historic Dupont Circle district. Situated adjacent to their principal headquarters, the design intent for this new space emphasizes a high-end and timeless aesthetic, intended to resonate with the established historical character of their existing offices. A primary design objective centered on the provision of conferencing and meeting spaces, with a specific focus on integrated acoustic solutions to support the scholars and staff. The incorporation of numerous library spaces, designed to accommodate an extensive collection of volumes, was also a significant programmatic requirement. The space also incorporates standardized private offices featuring sophisticated ergonomic furniture, complemented by historic artwork and photographs from the mid-twentieth century throughout the office.
