Our Approach

StarKist Co. sought to move its corporate and administrative headquarters from Pittsburgh to Reston, Virginia. For this relocation project, the design team aimed to create an engaging, dynamic office that showcased StarKist's brand and products. Upon entering the space, visitors and employees are welcomed by the artwork of Charlie the Tuna, the cartoon mascot for StarKist, and a display case showcasing StarKist's products throughout the years. The design team partnered with the artist and Charlie the Tuna historian to create a mural of Charlie and his friends in the pantry. The captivating piece creates a fun and energetic place for employees to take a break or collaborate with colleagues. The playful color palette celebrates the organization's iconic branding and appears on the walls, finishes, acoustical panels, and carpets. Hints of a water theme, including ocean typography-inspired porcelain tiles and buoy lights, bring the sea into the space to further support the company's brand. The design aims to strengthen the StarKist brand, providing an inspiring and engaging workplace experience.
